Gravatar I was wondering recently when it all began (the making fun of Dave, part)... your link no longer works, though.

In reference to Abu Ghraib, have y'all read "The Lucifer Effect?" There's a lot of discussion about the social dynamics of those atrocities. Interesting stuff.

Speaking of Dave, where's ol' Calamus Venenum been lately?

Gravatar Congratulations on the blog's birthday. I wish you many more.

Gravatar LMAO!

I bet it's been at least 2 or 3 years since I first got discussed over here...for things I said on the Talk Amarillo board.

I hadn't made even made a comment on this blog at that point time.

Gravatar wt ... I think you are trying to take Dave's place on PTS.

????????????

Gravatar wt, trust me, nobody talks about you until you rudely inject yourself into the conversation.

Gravatar Good work. Four years in blog time is almost like some geologic term that conveys long vast segments of time.

You see that I'm not up on my geologic terms.

I ran a search...and my good ol' buddy Spacedark...first quoted me from the old Talk Amarillo board...

All the way back on 8-17-2005.

Gravatar Happy, happy birthday to you. To you!
Happy, happy birthday to you. To you!

Gravatar Mr. Henry's logic frequently alludes me but this time he got the facts all wrong.

On May 15 he writes critically of the cumulative voting system. He cites Prenis Williams election to the AC Board of Regents stating "since the top three vote getters earned a spot on the board, more than likely Williams would be on the AC Board no matter what the voting system."

First of all, under the old voting system each candidate ran for a specific seat. The top 3 vote getters. didn't earn a spot. Mr. Williams received 24% of the votes. More than anyone else but not the 50% required to win under the old system and about the same percentage he got when he was defeated for Amarillo City Commission last year.

I'm not taking anything away from Williams. I cast all 3 of my votes for him. I'm just pointing out that Henry doesn't understand how the two systems work.

Instead of cumulative voting we should elect School Board members City Commissioners etc. from single member districts. Henry and the AGN of course oppose this also.

Then last week Henry wrote an illogical piece about the smoking ban and needle exchange programs and double standards.

Gravatar Hoo! I can't believe how much time has flown, and how the AGR and Dave Henry has remained so full of shit.
