I've had to deal with this pile of garbage a few times. Sadly I did not keep detailed notes. The one thing most forums and helpers miss, is this thing usually puts a folder in C: or C:/Program Files with another copy of all the files plus whatever files it used to put the infection in place. Given the history of the transponder infections, it probably updates the content too.

I have talked to Mr. Cohen and he informs me that mypctuneup.com is an "innovation that is consumer-friendly" so you must be mistaken. Why put something in Add/Remove when you can force them to go to your web site?
BTW, the latest Release 1.0 from Esther Dyson believes that about 10 percent of Direct Revenue instals come from porn. So DR is right on top of the wanker market, so to speak.

It took me one hour to remove Satan -uh i mean AURORA/NAIL from my pc. One frikkin'hour! I had just gotten home after a long day's work, and tada! There's a trojan on your pc that keeps generating background progs, annoying pop-ups (even luring you into further oblivion with their un-installer promising crap)and can't be detected/deleted. Have fun. Well thank you Direct Avenue, my monday night has been destroyed.
Btw, Webhelper says they might be making a variant or something. I dunno about you guys, but i'm not doing this sh*t again. If i turn on my computer and encounter Aurora (be it pop-up or background prog) yet AGAIN, i will pull out the WAN plug on my modem and say "bye bye" to the Internet.

A good old class action suit against thses cats might be the best way to not only get there attention but the attention of the other idiots out there who think this is a good business model to follow. After all it's money that is driving them and money can drive them out as well.

I'm not familiar with your site though, I just ran across it while searching for a way to rid myself of this trash. I'm not sure what having your full, undivided attention really means for them. I hope it means a lot of trouble though... I would love nothing more than to see these spyware/adware worms burn in hell, and I would also love to know how I help can make it happen. I'm not sure how I even got it to begin with... I'm computer saavy... I never clicked anything saying to install this. I never check e-mail on the PC that got infected by this. I had several protection programs running that should have stopped this. How is it that the company that makes this thinks it is legal? The only way I can think of that it got on my computer is through worm-like activity exploiting some (apparently) open security hole on my PC. When a class action lawsuit is started against these guys I will be there...

If you happen to find the site and / or program that installed it, let me know
Btw with regards what me giving DR my undivided attention means is this:
a site that has had up to 21,000 visitors in one day is hurling vast amounts of bad publicity at them. Nothing works faster than a spot of negative PR

I have two computers in my home ruined by aurora pop-ups. I still have not found a single program that removes this mess and am not computer saavy enough to do it myself. Once again time to wipe the hard drives! Freakin second time this month! I make my kids surf only within AOL...never thought I would have to do that as well.
