A Revolution is the Solution

ROFL PG, nice one

Gravatar heh glad you liked it. Keep an eye out for some juicy Direct Revenue install walkthroughs. Coming soon...

Gravatar Great one!! I love it.

Gravatar Oh my....that is so rich, ghost! Thanks for the laugh!

Gravatar I found an installer for Aurora! I like to tryout dodgy installers too.

With some help I found one via a BitTorrent download. I am helping someone else to analyze it @ BroadBandReports.com and I have found something I haven't seen before:

The video (data that is wanted) in it comes in the form of an installer (bet you knew that already). When ran and it detects an active internet connection, it will download Aurora. Somehow it managed to do 123MB in seconds, may just be that the whole file size is reported but the actual data isn't there yet. Afterwards, it extracts the file.

Now if it doesn't detect a live internet connection, it will simply proceed to extract the file and do nothing else.

Gravatar I also stumbled across an installer, currently playing with it. Keep me informed, sounds very intersting. nice catch!

Gravatar I literally have 17+ megabytes of data in text and pictures too, and the EULA. May take me a day to sift through it all. I had a little set back when my registry tracing data got blown away under the 99% CPU usage aurora.exe was causing (constantly trying to write to the Windows folder).

Check out my blog, it mainly focuses on why you shouldn't run as administrator and how many malware easily flop under a limited account. It by no means is professionally done.

Be advised that my blog is prone to displaying stale cached copies. I should have my data posted by Sunday or late Saturday night.

And yes my name is Joshua (by looking at the blog) but my last name isn't Abram

Gravatar Thanks, will do. When I publish my next set of findings, I'll happily give you a linkback!
