The people you listed all have one thing in common: they're thoroughly interested in something thoroughly uninteresting. That, of course, is the primary characteristic of all nerds. Whether it's Dungeons and Dragons, Silver Surfer comics, overclocking, or spyware, nerdiness is defined by loving something boring.

Actually, spyware becomes less boring once you learn how nasty it can be. I think it's a true awareness of spyware's potential for harm that keeps "The A-Team" going.

And if you nerds ever want to play some D&D, I'm your guy (or Half-Orc Barbarian).
