Hey, I noticed you had to deal with that miserable Winfixer bit back in July. I'm currently being plagued by it. Did you ever find a way to rid yourself of it? It's ruined my mother's computer and I fear it will ruin mine...
Well I just wiped the system, it was a testbox. however if youve been infected with it, i know all too well the horror that thing can cause. last i heard, the most recent version of ad aware killed it stone dead. of course, there may already be new variants but its worth a try...
Seeing as how the community has helped out Google, I wonder if they would return the favour by dropping all the Sponsored Results that link to iffy Antispyware sites?
Regarding Winfixer, if you are being plagued by that, its best to post a HJT log for analysis as Winfixer usually comes bundled with other crap as well. Best to get rid of it all.
Congrats to you paperghost. I just read the spywareguide.com articles and oh my god. nothing is sacred no more. I look for forward to the next installment. Are you working on that one?
