Now let me ask you a crazy, crazy question. Who has heard of a thing called a "Limited" account? AKA a "Restricted-User" account on a domain or on Win2000.
They aren't interesting to write about. No drama at all. 
But they take the wind out of the spyware/adware installers' sails in a mighty effective way. No ActiveX popup Yes/No boxes, for starters.
My apologies if you've already got the whole least-privilege thing covered somewhere and I failed to notice.
hi mechBgon - its actually covered a fair bit in one of the forum security sections. some of my regulars are very vocal in its support too (and rightly so!)
By the way about the "click YES" thing popup... clicking that button might be challenging as there is no button that says "yes"… hmmm hard indeed
