It was not a spas 12 shotgun. It was either a "Maverick" or "Mossberg" pump action shotgun. Hand gun was a Berreta 92 or close copy of.

No prob. I used to sell firearms related items. I own a shot gun of the same model.
The other hand gun displayed looked some what like a czech nine millimeter.
If I got a better veiw of it I could tell for sure.
A SPAS-12 is a military spec. shotgun capable of being fired either as a pump-action or as a semi auto. The purpose of this was to allow the weapon to be used with door breaching ammunition or tear gas rounds then as a point-man's weapon with normal anti-personnell rounds thereafter.
The specialty rounds did not always have enough energy to cycle the semi-automatic action, so the operator would fire them first then would use the pump-action to cycle a full powered load into battery then switch to semi-auto. I have even heard there was a fully automatic version expiramented with.

BTW, the firearms are a precaution; the blades and such are more decorative. Wife won't let me hang them up in our house.

I'm not an expert, only an interested spectator in the firearms world.
There are many who are much much better than I.
I generally can tell what I am looking at if I get a good look at it. When I can't I know who to call on in my local area. We have a couple of class III dealers I regularly pester for info about the stranger things I have seen.
BTW I understand someone is negociating to fire up production of the SturmGewerh 44 again. StuG 44 rifle.

If you need a real security type I could ask around.

We don't really need any help on security; we do pretty well for ourselves on that front. I always like to know a knowledgeable gun guy, though.

For all those "things that go bump in the night", I'm delighted to be among the ranks of those who are bumping back.
And we can bump really, really hard.
