Why are companies like this not being brought to justice through the courts.
Hitting them in the pockets is the only way to stop them.

Justice is to slow the legal system has not made laws to cover a lot of Tech that includes software dvd ipods flash cards you would be amazed how fews laws there are ..

I love to hack ad-supported stuff to stop showing the ads. Heck, I don't even live in a country where the ads apply; what makes them think I'm a potential customer? Whatever happened to REAL market research?

Actually, you would be surprised. Most of these adware/malware installs are illegal under computer tampering and identity theft laws.
It's just that the authorities, for some reason, are too busy dealing with murderers, robbers, drug dealers, etc. to go after these guys.
We need to make a federal office that ONLY handles stuff on computers, and give them their own budget.
