What in your opinion WOULD be attacking the issue correctly?
To me, it would involve making or advertising with malware programming and distrubuting the same as virus writing..meaning time in prison for it.
For now I'll simply say that we tend to focus on the wrong part of the chain, in the mistaken belief that we WILL clean up the internet - this kind of thinking makes us attack the problem at the places where we won't actually do that much damage. Its like poking a guy in the shoulder when you should be kicking him right in the nuts.
To me the solution is 20 mins live on TV with a malware creator and a live electric cable. Would put others off real quick.
Seriously though there has to be a strong deterrant, at the moment nothing happens to the person and any removal software is purely reactive so of no real use to people.
Windows needs to be made "bomb proof" so it cannot be infected, which is damn near impossible task unfortunately.
Well Kid MS are trying to make an idiot proof Windows system, only problem is the human race will insist on breeding better idiots...
