It's the nature of the beast. "If that scam fails, let's tweak it a bit and try again." So dedicated they are to the demon god of manipulative sales pitching they just can't imagine what they do is wrong at some deep, fundamental level. For them, the only thing wrong was the particular sales pitch. You could break clue-by-fours over their heads, and it would change nothing. I believe these people are badly broken in themselves.
