A Revolution is the Solution

Ok...I'm cynical and skeptical by nature. My disclaimer for the day.
But, I'm seeing blocked whois information.
I'm seeing no information there that isn't already available elsewhere publicly. All the news articles link to here. So it's definitely someone who visits you PG.
There's not company listed on the Worst Offenders list who hasn't been publicly disclosed somewhere else. Are they the worst offenders (ie most ad buys) for Zango Advertisers? Don't know about that. I just know they are sites who have been reported on publicly, which doesn't necessarily mean the worst offenders.
14 out of the 20 web sites they list are sites I publicly blogged about on Oct. 20. Mainly because this affiliate was getting on my last nerve. All these sites actually belong to the same affiliate. They hide that fact well, but if you are out there doing *real* testing it's pretty obvious and an easy connection to make. If you are also out there doing *real* teting on your own then you should know there is at least one more pair of domains (they redirect through 2 domains for each ad display) connected with this same affiliate. I don't see those domains listed though. But I haven't gotten around to posting that info yet either as an update to my blog or through my service. And of course the adult sites have been getting quite a bit of publicity lately.
I'm also not seeing many other sites that I personally see quite frequently through Zango. But again, they aren't sites I've seen talked about to any degree publicly recently.
I'm all for getting the word out about this stuff. However, the site is raising some red flags for me (see disclaimer above). If they are out there truly doing their own independent testing then kudos. If they are just recycling the work of others without their knowledge or giving proper credit, then thumbs down. And that's somewhat parasitic itself IMO. At least give a backlink. Time will tell.

I agree. It does look a little suspect, but I did submit a complaint to them and they started a dialog with me in which they were extremely sincere and knowledgable. So I am hoping that my sighting appears on their list as at present the site is not. At any rate, anything to help get rid of Zango is a plus in my books.
