A Revolution is the Solution

"You have some sort of problem with something online in the US, and you literally have guys in black suits and shades throwing themselves at you"
Not really. For something a while back, I was talking to an FBI agent who works in Cyber Crimes here. After talking for a bit he told me to call their headquarters who would be expecting a call from me. That ill-fated call was about as productive as calling a toy store on Christmas Eve. After being bounced around to a few different departments, I gave up and called the agent back.
And, and, and... Saw that child predator video I released? Over 150,000 views between Google Video and YouTube and the New Jersey police have yet to do anything. That case is a dead issue at this point.
/at least he got pwned. :P

To some degree it depends on
a) being lucky enough to have a contact at a US FBI office who knows his stuff internet-wise and
b) the case itself being something they think they can generate some back-slapping press for.
However, the response rate and understanding of this stuff (for me anyway) is far superior in the States as opposed to the boobery I've encountered here in the UK, sadly. I mean seriously, you can't even get hold of anyone to be brushed off by :S

Sorry, can't help ya with the UK coppers, but here in the US, the Secret Service has a very serious computer crimes division. They are responsible for "financial" crimes and lots of online crimes fall into that bucket.

If you run a business in the US and believe that you have been hacked, call these guys first.
