A Revolution is the Solution

Gravatar Wow... Talk about a horrible setup money-wise. A tiny payload with the CPM cheating ad rotators would have made Mr. Wrong Dong much more than that mess.

Gravatar Watching with interest Chris. That sure is alot of bad-ness in one go.

I echo your words that 'we may not be ready for this'. Especially when we have the Olympics coming up in '08. Alot of money to be made during that time and I suspect alot of Malware to be distributed.

Gravatar Oof, thats nasty.

Gravatar Eugene Kaspersky recently said:

Kaspersky estimates that 70 per cent of malware now originates from China, where they cheeky blighters are after your data, preparing to open up your backdoors, combing for financial data and, most particularly, your virtual identity and any virtual lucre you may have stashed away in virtual worlds.

Gravatar Yeah, I've been banging on about stuff from China for a while. The olden days of crude password stealers hidden in whack-a-mole games are long gone

Gravatar Seems we all need to watch out for some a Major Malware storm coming from China,I get the Feeling we have not seen the last of this type of install and as they get more Sneaky,
Things will get worse ...

Gravatar What was (were) the infection vector(s)? IOW, how do these hijacks initially get on the box?

Gravatar Well, there's no actual exploit code anwhere so I'd say they're likely being pushed in a "hey check this out and double click it to run it, lol" fashion, though I've heard rumours that some of these things are being pushed via IM. I've also heard a few things regarding javascript but no confirmation on it yet. Last time I ran this, a lot of the files were dead but they might just be shifting stuff round.
