A Revolution is the Solution

Gravatar "they gave me his info"

The ISP needs to be taken into the street. Handing Joe Blow customer info is insane.

Gravatar lol and that for 20 bucks. I guess, when that is like a pay of half a months worth of working, you d not say either ("...I live in romania...").

Still shall not be an excuse, just a fact :/

Gravatar ...okay, I slept on it and that's still the most deranged thing I've read all week.

I'm surprised he didn't turn up with an AK.

Gravatar I assume you read on to the end of the thread? After downloading and listening to your talk from the US the other week, this made perfect sense:
"wow you guys were right about 14 years old today, check this out:
after i told their parents, the policed asked if they would agree to confiscate his computer to check for other illegal activity. As my father used to work as a policeman I know a lot of people from there and they would tell me stuff no matter how secret it is (remember, i live in romania, the country of all posibilities)
Guess what they found: the kid was a very active member on a russian backed hacking forum and was breaking yahoo, msn and ICQ accounts for $50 each which went to a yet uknown persons paypal account. Probably the guy was sharing the profit with the kid. They also told me he sold credit card dumps at the price of $15 per dump.
So it seems the local idiot that cried at my feet isn`t that stupid...it`s got really scary I wonder how his parents will react...i mean i don`t have kids, but i can`t imagene what would i do if i had a 14 year old kid stalking people, posting in russian hacking forums and selling cc dumps."

Gravatar I know now that if I ever catch a phish by the short-n-curlies, I shall have no mercy in prosecuting the little hatfucker if I find he's a damn teenager, directly because of this particular hatfucker. :D

Gravatar for what its worth, i meant the whole thread was deranged, not just the angry guys post (especially in light of what the kid was eventually revealed to be in involved in).

I still can't quite get my head round the fact that he thought he could solve the problem by "quickly sending some photoshopped pics of my girlfriend" to him though. That's messed up.

Gravatar Just wanted to ask how do you rack up 500 friends on myspace and claim they are all good friends/relatives.

Agrees with PG about sending any photos whatsoever - stupidity.

Shocked at the ISP giving out info like that.

Amazed that he managed to hack her accounts so quickly, making me suspect its one of those 500 people on her friend's list, sent her a dodgy link or something. (I thought that hacking these sort of accounts, usually requires a phishing page of some kind unless you can guess it.)

Finally, I don't know about anyone else, but if a person with an ID like kriminal 911 comes contacting me, I would refuse any requests for being his friend.I mean, could he have made it any clearer as to what sort of activities he's into?

Gravatar frankly im amazed an ISP would give out any details at all as my experience has been the exact opposite they normally tell you in no uncertain terms that they dont give out that sort of infomation,

But all in all i think the little sod deserverd a damn site more than he got....

Gravatar I agree with Mills .... he should have had his arse tanned with a broom .... oh to be a 14yr old untouchable teen again *or at least we all thought we were when we were 14* lol

Gravatar Sorry but not buying it at all.

I get the initial blackmail post, but then it gets to easily resolved. As we know, it isnt like that!

Gravatar From what I know of certain ISPs in Romania, they do have a slightly lax approach when it comes to personal data. If he did track him down to his house, I'm not sure what else he could do except threaten him with cops. Certainly wouldn't be worth doing time over kicking the crap out of him. what else could he do?

Gravatar I agree with getsurfers.
Where is everyones BS meters here?

A lot of counties have lax rules when it comes to getting bribed. Which is why he so conveniently changed his story when people were surprised all he had to do was call.

Just a wannabe batman, I think.

Gravatar Well, if you mean you think he's lying with regards where he lives, his website is Romanian:

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/wh...ch? ip=speew.com

and i'm pretty sure i've found some of his social networking pages, which are also in romanian and match a lot of what he's said on other sites.

so i'm sure he's telling the truth with regards his location, and Jim (above) isn't the first person I know to mention Romanian ISPs sometimes being a little loose and fast with customer data. A small local outfit? quite possible they'd hand it over.

as to whether the full story is real, who knows. He has enough posts on that site to make me wonder why he'd suddenly post something so crazy if it wasn't true, but stranger things have happened. I have heard of one similar case that happened a while ago in a location not far from where he is, though it didn't involve making photoshop pics of your own gf and sending it to the hacker.

probably a good thing.

Gravatar No, Im saying hes lying about what happened. That he would resort to the bribery story would actually back up that he lives somewhere where that is possible. He changed his story to something more plausible when he realized he had said something too ridiculous. Which is what tends to happen when people go on wild story making sessions.

He lied, hes a liar, it's not that hard to see. Course things are possible, but in this case, no, it's lies. And its funny yet sad how many people fell for it. Now I see how scammers on the net make so many bucks.

Gravatar Well personally, I think its impossible to simply come out with a definite "yes it is" or "no it isn't" without knowing the full facts, which we probably never will. I still don't see why anyone with a long standing history on a well regarded forum would suddenly decide to wake up one day and start telling everyone about photshopping nude pics of his gf and sending them to hackers, though. THAT makes even less sense than accusing the guy of simply making it all up.
