On the contrary, I think you betray your actual lack of readership here. The majority of writeups here in recent weeks have focused on the seemingly never ending battle to force websitetoolbox to permakill the helgi forum - and the majority of those pieces were stone cold serious. or there was the straight-as-an-arrow piece regarding roger thompson / myspace, or the kryogeniks myspace thing, or the credit card details posted to that greek forum, or...etc etc etc.
so you see, theres plenty of serious mixed in with out and out silliness. if the articles regarding the numerous "script kiddy" takedowns took themselves too seriously, it'd be extremely long and boring articles about nothing much in particular. PGs style of conveying the work that goes into these "busts" keeps it interesting, entertaining and yes, extremely addictive WITHOUT making it a chore.
I guarantee you if all of the work on the helgi takedowns were rewritten "straight", nobody would care (or indeed find it interesting). The beauty of these writeups is that he's taking extremely mundane hacking wannabes and turning it into serialised drama, and actually waking people up to the fact that 11 year old kids swap credit cards and phish pages like pokemon cards.
To summarise, Ugh, you're dead wrong.
That's why I love our Teabag ...... given everything that has happened in past, he can still maintain his sense of humour and in taking down sites like Helgis you need to keep your humour.
