A Revolution is the Solution

When will myspace wake up to their responsibilities with regards to security of the site and their users?

The head-in-the-sand approach is only going to lead to the end of myspace et al

Well as strange as it may seem, I have no problem with being tracked. Why, you cant use the web without being tracked in some form. I do have a problem with being automatically added to someones subscriber list. Why, because I do get emails from people on myspace [usually spam] and out of curiosity I go check it out. Which ends with me on their profile page.

Thanks for the heads-up, and now I'm off to you know where.

Gravatar Couldn't resist

Gravatar In agreement with Getsurfers, MySpace have their heads firmly stuck in the sand when it comes to their users and safety.

Having emailed them several times in the past regarding abusive profiles made *some people know what I'm talking about* all I ever got back was that they wanted "screenshots" or whatever and a picture of me holding a placard to say I was a legitimate member. Nothing was ever done, and as far as I know, to date, these so called profile pages are still on there.

Bebo however, seem to have the right approach, email them regarding abuse, fake pages etc, and they are removed. I know which one I prefer.

Gravatar To call myspace incompetent would be an insult to the real incompetents like the people who ran Northern Rock for instance,

the Team and i use this word with caution are a bumbling inept bunch who are totally heartless and money grabbing all they are interested in is the money from adverts coming in they have no end user policy what so ever....

Gravatar Maybe I'm strange, but reading the title of this post made me imagine Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell sitting in a darkened office with the light of the computer screen illuminating their faces...

I've never used MySpace so I may be talking out of the wrong end of my body, but judging by what I've read it sounds distinctly like that site wasn't designed with security in mind.
