if this is who i think it is, the information he has is too crucial with regards shutting down a wider, more serious problem on myspace to risk losing it - if you're aware of the scale of the problem on myspace with regards the troll / spam / hate groups on there, you'll know what im talking about.
myspace support staff have pretty much abandoned the groups to burn - this is quite possibly the one chance anyone has to shut all of these assholes down in one go.
gone soft? he just permanently took out one of the worst and most active abusers on the whole of myspace, and for that, he recieves nothing less than eternal praise and jubilation from what is likely to be most of the inhabitants of the myspace groups that havent yet been smashes to pieces.

of course not. it seems to me the element of uncertainty being employed here is crucial in getting this guy to spill the beans.
