A long time ago, a story I broke caused so much bad feelings that it wasn't long before ye olde death threats were being issued. Somehow, someone got hold of my old home phone number and rang up at 2AM or something stupid like that with a lame assed death threat. I pretended I was a gay chat line and he crapped his pants and hung up.
