Ah well. The reply is just what one would expect of those scumbags. Its really funny when you see them wonder and bitch about reduced sales, when all they do is pretty much negative PR in any of the IR/IP related materials. Just makes you not wonder any more why people either start buying from artists directly or use "illegal" channels to obtain stuff. Not that that is the right way of doing things (illegal channels), but anything seems better than supporting some twid in the managing level knowing the "theory" but failing to see reality and the "actual" way things work. Shame on them.

im curious - i read the blog you link to every now and again, but im not sure i understand why simply working in security automatically means you have an obligation to uphold intellectual property rights. who is the obligation coming from?
seems less like a request to be mindful of others IP rights, than a demand to comply with crazy decisions that only serve to hurt everyone involved.
i bet the people at DC comics did a few facepalms when they saw this one break, anyway.

The comics industry is in a right mess at the moment without nonsense like this taking place - especially when the big boys are the ones struggling with their output and sales.
hell, comics are about the only industry i can think of where the main franchises - batman, superman, spider man etc - rely on making all their cash in an entirely different medium (film).
how many millions do the super hero films make? how many millions of people SEE those films?
but let me ask you another one - how many of those millions do you think have even picked up a comic about one of the characters they see on screen, let alone walk into a comic shop?
the answer is pretty depressing. stuff like this definitely doesn't help the cause.
