Saw this not long ago on one of the news expose shows, 60 Minutes or 20/20 etc. I can't remember which one. I'm betting these two cases are not the only ones. Hopefully they will make people more aware.
Same deal - his PC gets pwned, and he and his family are left holding the bag. In this case, the manner in which the family were rousted by the police at gunpoint early one morning is extremely disturbing. In the end, the heartless DA got this young man to plead guilty for bringing a Playboy mag to school, since none of the other PC-porno evidence could stick under scrutiny. Another family ruined by over-zealous prosecution. Yikes.
I used to wonder why my Man was so paranoid as i thought about Computer Security, Well now i know No wonder the Julie Amero case has caused so much Ranting this really could happen to anyone at any time,
And the laws in effect in America Make it Even worse...
Ok i have a question If those laws about What is on your Computer are Carried over into the Street does this mean if you Hand in a Pistol you found in the Street will you then be Arrested for the Murder the pistol was used to Commit ??
After all you had it ..
If its on your PC you are Guilty Well that didnt take long to happen did it,
The Law of Innocent until Proved Guilty has now been turned on its head, From now on if its Computer related in America you will have to prove you didnt Download it,
Not that it matters Because if its on your PC you are Guilty ...

I've got my kids trained now (hopefully) NOT to click on any links they are sent, but I may just let my 16 year old read about that young guy, may just get it through his head what can happen when you innocently click on something that looks harmless.

Julie Amero sentencing has now been postponed to April 26th. State Attorney Regan is now involved. Think they are trying to find a way out..........
