Matt, the last link in your John Ransom entry in the theory thread is to a different John Ransom. The JR posting in the Valve debate is younger, a political theorist at Dickinson and not the venerable John Crowe Ransom. The guy in the Valve debate and I went to grad school together. He is completely smart and witty as well as nice guy. He wrote an interesting book on Foucault.
