Gravatar I think Kerwyn should give you the remote....after all you ARE getting up at 430am everyday.

Trust your instincts woman! You know like when you know you have to have that skein of yarn...lol.

Gravatar I hate it when my spidey sense says something and I ignore it. It ALWAYS bites me on the ass.

Gravatar grrr - W - I can relate. My last laptop bit the dust immediately after I started fantasising about a new one. Unfortunately, it took three months to get the $$$ together for the dream machine (and Macs )$#($*)@#($) never go on )#@(#*()! sale, it seems).

Guid luck... and I'm sure you can develop your sprinting skills for the remote. Or else do what I do and hide it.

Gravatar Sure your remote doesn't need new batteries?????

Gravatar Susanne has a good point. Might only be batteries. DISH sarellite won't work without working batteries in the remote, either! (Yes, I learned that personally.)

Gravatar Well, at least your TV had a good long life. Imagine how you'd feel when that happens to the new 42" Plasma only 14 months after you brought it home!

Good luck trying to get hold of the remote

Gravatar Definitely not the batteries - I tried turning it on right on the TV.

I totally got my money's worth out of that TV!! And I'm a sucker for an extended warranty Ghislaine!

And now at least I get to shop for a new TV guilt-free!!

Gravatar From the enabler side of the fence, you should consider how much money you would save by buying a new tv.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive! But we switched from old-fashioned tube style tv and monitors to LCD flat-panels a few years ago and they have basically paid for themselves in power savings by now.

Also: check Tiger Direct for you tv instead of FutureShop. We bought our 32" flat-panel there 3 years ago for less than half what most were going for at the time.

Gravatar Oh Wannietta, I did have an extended warranty ... I figured with a piece that size, it was worth it just because they would come to me instead of me trying to get the monster back to the store.
Unfortunately, the TV was not repairable. I did get a replacement, but this when I found out that if you bought, say, a $1500 TV 14 months ago, it is only worth $950 today and a $950 TV is what they give you as a replacement. Also, the extended warranty is not transferable to the new TV - so you have to pay for a new one.
I went for an LCD instead of a plasma this time - they use less power. Hopefully this one will last longer than 14 months Like yours, my previous TV had a good long life - 14 years with me and I had bought it second hand.

Gravatar Geez - the fine print will get you every time!!!
With all of the hours that I'm working I'm not getting the quantity time with my telly that I used to so I can take a bit of time, shop around and get a great deal.

Gravatar Awww, poor little tv. I hope you can find one you love just as much soon.

Gravatar Just in time for the grand television change over, almost. Maybe the next one will bring you almost as much joy as the last

I just posted a sock-tacular blog, and I would warmly welcome comments!
Check it out if you have the time
