How can he fail to like it?! It is gorgeous, and I love the style. I know what you mean about grooves and dusting. I have too many antiques that require dusting with a cloth wrapped around a pencil! I know you'll have a wonderful visit with Stephen.

Your brother has excellent taste! I have come to love the mission style of furniture, it is very popular here in Texas. And that dining room set is fabulous! Think of all the great dinners you will have at that wonderful table.
He's gonna love the whole room.

Hey Roxanne,
"The Man" is very happy to see the photos. It is almost like Christmas. We ordered the stuff, but I had almost forgotten what it looked like....now, it's a Mardi Gras. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. Two thumbs way up..... though I wonder: should I have gotten the 90'table instead of the 76'? Ah...the agony of choice. See you Friday!

I have chairs similar though no little railings at the lower parts. They are a pain to clean and I second the swiffer duster. But I love the style too.
That Stephen! He grows more and more attractive--good taste, great voice, top-notch uncle-ing skills and a-level brothering. You can tell him I said so!
Happy reunion to you all!

I love this furniture...it looks antique. I especially like the sideboard. For all of those slats, get one of those swiffers..works like a charm for those little hard-to-get-to spaces. How could Stephen not love it all....and, all of you?

I reckon Stephen will be rapt...it looks just beautiful, Roxanne.
I loathe dusting so my furniture is the type I can wave a feather duster over it and it looks pretty good...until the dust all settles again. Oh, well...

You have done a very nice job. It all looks so good. I have got to redo our formal dining room chairs...I just keep putting it off until springy-er weather. I am so bad to not get anything done in the winter.

Dearest Rhett,
The woman was looking and looking at this furniture, exclaiming "beautiful! Timeless! The lines, the wood! The room is so warm and elegant!" and then she wandered off to the kitchen making those little clucking sounds she makes when she's crazy jealous. Me? All I can think if those upholstered seats look perfect for a nap and a quick sharpening of the claws. Absolutely perfect!
It has been a very long time, but point in fact, I'm not really interested in any feline fling at the moment. You see, I have lizards to chase, a sunny deck to lounge on and that oaf provides me a lot of entertainment when they take him out for "exercise." That being said, your blue eyes continue to take my breath away.
P.S.Please DO NOT send Willow down here.
P.P.S. I would like to know how you plan to deal with all that party traffic. I'm thinking of spending a few days on the roof...

Well, Roxanne. I see Sophie has been here, pecking away under my name, while I was scrounging for food to salve my envy. You couldn't have done a more beautiful job. We have an early Stickley library table and one of their current production lounge chairs with ottoman. It's wonderful furniture. LOVE the seats.
