Gravatar What a fascinating collection of locks! And enjoyed the commentary too!

Gravatar So many locks! Wonderful set for the week. I particularly liked the combination lock collage.

Gravatar I think you've covered almost all types of lock there, with beautiful shots! I love the last quote.

Gravatar You really outdid yourself!!! These are all so super...and love the close-up photography.

Here is mine...it's also a bit 'native american'!!

Gravatar Excellent work you have done here and informative texts.

Great PH entry

Gravatar What a superb take on the theme. So many locks! Happy weekend

Gravatar Great post, as usual. I, too, have a collection of small locks once used on luggage. Maybe we should have them made into a necklace!

Gravatar this is a collection. i admire the effort for this one. also, your daughter is pretty, i think, even with long or short hair.

Gravatar Love the old looks... wow, great pictures. Have a great weekend.

Gravatar Wonderful collection! I still have my Master gym lock from high school... and somewhere the combo is written... some day I'll find that little slip

Gravatar Oh, my goodness! I can't tell you how happy I am that you are back in the hunt and this post perfectly illustrates why. You've most definitely made me smile - and laugh! I LOVED it. Every bit - photos, locks, quotes, but especially the stories. My goodness - you took me back to junior high, as well as the evening we came home from dinner to find that a preschool friend of Emily's had cut Emily's long beautiful hair while under the care of a babysitter. We found locks of hair all over Emily's room.

Thank you for blessing my day, dear friend.

Gravatar What a great array of locks you have shared! I like the sparkle one! I had wanted to post a lock for ships to past through as well but couldn't find the photo. Can't even remember if I have one.

Here is my lock photo.

Gravatar The locks stir mysteries of the heart and intrigue. Nice comedic relief with the hair shots!

Gravatar I loved the many different kinds of locks, and I really loved the description too.

Gravatar you definitely have a collection of locks! love the ornate antique key hole and jeweled one.:D

Gravatar Lovely locks story. I like that you included hair locks - especially Locks of Love!

Mine's here: http://thebutterflymind.com/ ramb...otohuntlock.htm

I found this gem while living in the South of France.

Gravatar Wow - you always do such intricate posts for Photo Hunters! That's quite an assortment of locks there! I think my favorite picture is the one of the Master Locks - taking an ordinary object and making it into art!
Thanks for your visit and comment on my blog today!
Cheers,

Gravatar Wow, you really covered a lot of ground today with your post, great pics! Love all the locks and the locks of hair, that didn't even cross my mind as way to look at the subject, fun!

Gravatar My comment went into the ether... however, I had more to say, anyway...

Great selection of locks.

I wonder if anyone did a twist on the work "locks" and did "lox"? We shall see.

Your comment on opening the combination on lockers at school reminded me that:

1) I bought a lock for my bike once which had the same combination as the lock I got for my locker in grade 5, some 20 years earlier!

2) we had a guy at my highschool who I now recognise probably had obsessive/compulsive disorder. He would check his lock many times a day and when he closed his lock would pull on it 50 or 60 times, spinning the lock randomly many times.

One day, I was standing with friends and said "Wouldn't it be funny if I just did this (did a random series of numbers) and it opened?" I pulled the hasp and IT OPENED! much to my shock. I closed it immediately but just as I did so, the guy came back past us at his locker....

For the rest of the year, the poor guy would stand for 15 or 20 minutes pulling on his lock... I tried to tell him it was pure coincidence and I didn't know his combination but to no avail.

Gravatar This was an excellent post. I enjoyed all of your photographs and the narrative very much. Happy weekend.

Gravatar Outstanding collection of locks!!

Gravatar A wonderful look at locks. Love all your photos, quotes, and stories.

Thanks for visiting mine and hope you're having a great weekend.

Gravatar So many beautiful locks, and great text to describe them too. Your Nyssa is gorgeous!

Yes, that's the lock on my travelling alarm clock. Unlocked, it makes it possible to set the alarm, or the date, or the time. Locked, it keeps them set.

Gravatar The most comprehensive coverage I've seen today, colourful too.

Gravatar What a great selection of locks

Gravatar what wonderful shots and an enjoyable read. well done!

Gravatar Wow - really great photos and post for this week!

Three days in, and the plump cat is still on her diet. We are going to measure the weight loss from how many inches her tum is off the ground.

Gravatar Great selection of locks. Thanks for visiting me - how have I missed your blog for so long?!

Gravatar The best, BEST, best post I've seen all day... You really thought about this didn't you? And I loved all the quotes ... especially that last one... LOL ... Perfect post for the theme! Thanks for coming to see mine...

Gravatar So many examples of locks. I always found opening locker locks to be stressful. I don't think I had to buy any for my son's locker years, though. Interesting. I think they were furnished and he received the combination during orientation each year.

Gravatar Great diversity! love all the photos. THanks for stopping by the IE Mommy and checking mine out.

Your daughter is very pretty...gorgeous hair!

Gravatar What lovely locks! Including the before and after.

Gravatar Great series of pics for the theme, and the Jewish Proverb is so true!

Gravatar Great post! Love the collages... And I remember that Elaine Boosler routine, too! Wonder whatever happened to her...

Thanks for visiting!

Gravatar "We used to be able to lock our luggage for air travel."

You/we still can in a lot of parts of the world.

Gravatar Amazing! You've got plenty of locks there.

And thanks for the visit. :D

Gravatar What a terrific collection! I hate those locker locks! I like the take of locks of hair...

Gravatar Great photos for the theme! All are nice and i love those fancy locks. Only if they were real. hehehee...of all the locks here i have the hard time opening the "modern lock" i was not yet successful in one.

Thanks for visiting my lock entry, srp.

Happy Sunday!

Gravatar Well done! I think you have covered every aspect of lock!

Gravatar Wow Melange! Not only did you have many different kinds of locks and locks of hair, you also had a wonderful story to go with each one. Good job!

Gravatar What an awesome entry for the theme!

My daughter's hair is long and wavy like that. When she was little, she looked just like Shirley Temple.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Gravatar An excellent selection of photos - very impressive!

Gravatar That is quite a collection of locks - well done!

Gravatar What a wonderful collection, and your photos make even the lowliest ones seem fascinating. Love the new hairstyle your daughter has, too.

Thanks for stopping by at mine!
Vicki

Gravatar Wow! You had fun looking for all these locks. Cool post.

Gravatar Great Photos and Great take on the theme! LOVELY!

Gravatar Great take on the photos. Thanks for visiting me.

Gravatar I always appreciate how you present so many interpretations to the theme.

I like those vintage locks. They are lovely. I'm not too fond of combination locks. I still prefer the conventional lock and key system.

Your daughter has lovely hair. I used to have very long hair too. I cut it short when I started working.

Sorry for my late visit. Take care. See you on the next PH.
