It's so hard to be lyrical about garbage, isn't it? But you've done an excellent job of producing an attractive picture of something that really isn't. I don't think this has been my favourite theme for the year!

dumpsters are fine for as long as they are regularly emptied by garbage collector.

I like your photograph a lot. Thanks for visiting mine. Your comment reminded me of my childhood when we had milk delivered to the door in the glass jugs. I was born in 1957 and I think they still delivered until the late 1960s. There definitely is a lot more waste now with all the disposable packaging.

Somebody else on Photo Hunt made a similar point: that when you move, you leave behind a lot of garbage (as well as take quite a bit with you). Amazing how much we accumulate, then discard when the time comes, isn't it? :S
Well, moving across the country is one reason to clean the house.
Some stores have like that too.
Now that is garbage. We had a dumpster in our driveway for ages when we had to get a new roof.

That's quite the dumpster! My folks just got rid of the orange one, of similar size, that had been sitting in their driveway taking up space for nearly 2 months following a "little" leak in the toilet: it overflowed when someone flushed, and they left the house without noticing. It was 2+ hours and $10,000+ worth of damage by the time anybody came back home. Big dumpster!

We all produce so much of it, but rubbish is never a pretty subject.
In New Zealand, we call your dumpster a skip. They are usually for renovation waste or people who have a lot to throw out.
We call a dumpster thos bigger rectangular containers. Some one encouraged people to recycle food from dumpsters at restaurants and supermarket.
Once, a man went inside to sleep and was almost crashed by a compactor rubbish truck.
