I use to have a beautiful black cat, Shadow, years ago. He was so glossy, just like a panther, and although timid at first with people he didn't know, he had a lovely nature.

There's something about black cats, isn't there?

I always had the hardest time lighting our black cat's face. It was a challenge I never shied away from, though. I kept shooting until I got it right. It was almost as if his fur ate the light that fell upon it.
