Those black shutters are really pretty. Our house is tan, so the black wouldn't really look right but I do love them in this photo and on other homes where they fit.
My 'little girl' leaves for college in less than a month. I'm not ready!

The duck reminds me of the black swans we saw in Maui, swimming around in the lagoon at the Hyatt on Kaanapali Beach.
They look so haughty and proud of themselves!
Love both photos.. black is definitely making a statement. We just recently put in a black (with brown flecks) kitchen countertop. The decision to do was not easy as it was so the opposite of the old... but it looks great. I am no longer afraid of black. 
Black in the right places is just perfect, isn't it. Your bottom photo could fit in with Carmi's animal theme postings this week.
