Congratulations to your sister, lol ! My cats never let us touch their bellies, I don't know why, nobody ever had harmed them. But to take pictures of their bellies, there they do it even without forcing them, I just haved to whisper in a very, very sweet voice !

Is there anything softer than a cat's tummy. I think not.

Your sister, Maggie, sure has an amazing amount of belly fur, Roxanne. I hope this doesn't run in the family.
I must admit it does look awful soft and warm though.

My Blessing is the only one of the 3 who will roll tummy up for a nap. I think it's a chiropractic move, as he has severe arthritis in his spine. The other 2 are very nervous but allow me to touch thier tunnies, gently. Thanks for the great photos! D

Cloudy lives belly up. Which puts me in mind of Mirenete. Which leads me to this vision I have of you that we never get a glimpse of over here: like CSI, you have a mask on and a blue gown and probably protective eye gear and you're bent intently over-bodies! Secretly, I love thinking of you this way- poking, probing, slicing and figuring out what made someone tick and then stop.
Did you call them "honey" the way that nice one on CSI Miami does?
Lovely tummies, all around.

I found out by accident, that Abby enjoys having her tummy rubbed. Since she is a Manx, she does not roll onto her back.Although because she is rounded (like a typical Manxie) she does roll quite well when she gets in say...oh catnip. But one day I had her in my lap and I began rubbing her inner thigh and she popped those cute little back legs up and open and let me rub her soft fur. I was so happy. Now I give her lots of belly rubs.

As usual, your cats are great. I was looking at some photos of my cat that Sarah had taken, and she has a few of them on her back. I told her we'd have to join this Tuesday Tummy business.

Kitties have the most cuddle-able tummies ... if they let you cuddle them !! What gorgeous photos. My Bambi loves to lay like that, in such a trusting position, but watch out if you try and pat her ... your arm will be her dinner !!
Take care, Meow

What a great quote that is about the comforts and bondage of domesticity...
And fabulous photos! Our Emma is the same way--*extremely* offended at being caught in a less-than-dignified position.
But i loooove kitty-tummies!

My cat never sleeps on his back but will often expose his belly when he wants something.
Lovely pictures of one contented and one indignant cat!

You are right, cats hate being vulnerable and these photos capture that perfectly.
Dogs are different. They take the dominant or submissive position, whichever fits the moment.
