I have an HP all in one that I adore. I've had it for about two years now, I think. I had a Lexmark once and it was...grrrr. I do understand how you feel. :|

I learned from a church printer that scanning pictures with any printer that wasn't a flat bed type left roll marks on the prints. So I bought an HP printer and an HP flat bed scanner seperate. So far so good and it's almost a year.
At least you know how to troubleshoot.
