The USA as a whole elected W because of the right wing effort to get out the vote. The thought that they might try it here is scary. No harm in exposing the rot to some fresh air.

Gravatar No one outside of wildly neo-conservative wingnuts takes the Washington Times seriously. It is welcome to write all the craziness it likes. Bottom line: in their minds, "progressive" is a very dirty word, but that can't be taken as speaking to the USA as a whole. If I were to guess, I suspect Harper would be squirming uncomfortably with this sort of support. I'm no Harper fan, as you know, but the man and the party are running away from this sort of social conservative jibber-jabber as quickly as they can go.

Nice to see the blog still humming away! Nice work.

Gravatar Gawd. I found the article and am linking it in an update.
Thanks.

Gravatar Nice post, Paulinee. You and many others are starting to see a consistent thread in this over-the-border American help for Harper and the Conservative agenda. We've been covering this too from the beginning of the campaign. You missed the article in the Globe by Lorna Duceck where she describes, no, brags about how far right American Christian fundamentalist groups like James Dobson's Focus on the Family are pouring money, organizers and support into the conservatives efforts to change Canadian laws. We have a brief summary at Harper's American buddies.

Keep spreading the word and let me know if you find out about any other examples of American's trying to influence our elections and supporting the Conservatives.
