This interview should be published far and wide. It is the fruit of an extremely profound reflection on the state of the institution of the Church by one of the intellectual giants of our time. Many would-be traditional Catholics look to liturgy as a solution for present ills. They call it a "reform of the reform." But tinkering with liturgy is itself one of the great ills of our day. It is part of the massive project of social engineering inspired by communism. The only reform possible for Catholics is inward reform. The mass is the canon or rule of that inward reform since its goal is to become a "walking mass," so to speak through conforming one's will to it not the other way around. No! The Mass as received down to the Council of Trent cannot be reformed. It is perfect and perfected, that is to say complete and completed. In fact it has not altered and continues today just as it ever was despite efforts of the part of the Pope and his episcopal cohorts to destroy it and replace it with the so-called "novus ordo." That continuity is undeniable. Look at all the places where it is said. Even in the parish down the street from me, a priest is saying it as his private mass. He comes out without being announced and people kneel down and join him. His simply says the mass. And this is enough. This is going on through out the world. Through the work of sincere Catholic bishops and priests the prayer life of the Church has continued and will continue. The work of the novus ordo will not continue any more than the Anglican Book of Common Prayer has continued. Like that book the novus ordo will be altered, re-altered until there is nothing left even of the traces of the mass that were there when it was first introduced. In fact this has already happened as one can see if they listen to the novus ordo webcast from St. Sabina's in Chicago. Everything done there is permitted by church authority, namely, Cardinal George on the pretext of inculturation http://www.saintsabina.org/webca...bcast/
index.htm
Now since the mass is with us, Catholics should seek it out and then concentrate on contemplating its mysteries. Once they begin to pray the mass as it has always been, they will see the "novus ordo" for what it is. For one does not encounter Christ without loving Him and it is in the mass as received through the ages that He has promised to be. Dr. Hildebrand's interview is a call for us to become responsible in the work of saving our souls. Don't leave that up to officialdom because it will fail you. Like the heresies St. Pius X condemned, communism has not gone away. Its ideology underlies the various life-style movements with us now: feminism and polymorphous sexual diversity. And through the advocates for these movements it is still present in the "official church."

Wow! What an interview. For some time now, I have enjoyed their thought and perspective on things. Not always agreeing, but quite often.

Do not forget that JohnPaul 1 was done away with because he knew too much of what was happening with the church especially with many of the bishops and cardinals practicing freemasonry.
The smoke of satan has indeed entered the walls of the Vatican and seems to have made a nest of modernists ,apologists and last but not least traitors to the true church of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A friend of mine directed me to this post. Interesting. I have listed a link below I thought that those of you who enjoyed this post might also find interesting.
"I vow ... to change nothing of the received Tradition, and nothing thereof I have found before me guarded by my God-pleasing predecessors, to encroach, to alter, or to permit any innovation therein." – Coronation Oath of the Pope
This one quote in particular caught my attention, but their are many points which call attention to the responsibilty that the the Pope has to maintaing the integrity of the tradition of Christian doctrine.

I'd like to know where she gets her information. How does she know what the enemies are planning? Where does she get all that?

Good question, Andrew. I used to like Alice von Hildebrand, especially when they interviewed her at EWTN. But after reading this, I had to wonder:
Attacking Paul VI posthumously isn't very kosher, is it? The changes brought about by Vatican II were already docemented before Paul VI became Pope, so he was to blame? Alice only had one Pope, and that was her husband!
Very orthodox, indeed.
