Gravatar Still ... much better than driving for two hours or more to escape the horrors of standard AmChurch fare.

You wouldn't be referring to the TLM available in Jackson, MI would you? When I lived in Hillsdale, that was the only TLM I was aware of. Also, have you put your name in the LumenGentleman database?

Gravatar I am happy for you, Sir! But please pray for those of us who are still stuck back here in the Charlotte Diocese.

Gravatar 17 priests??!! I am amazed at the interest from diocesan priests already. We are even going to have at least three locations where the TLM will be celebrated in the happy-clappy diocese of Steubenville.

Gravatar The trend the other way goes on, of course. Here's an account of the dedicaton of a newly-renovated church in Milwaukee, now with "theater-in-the-round seating".

Gravatar "We are even going to have at least three locations where the TLM will be celebrated in... Steubenville."

Where, pray tell? I was just there last week, and considering how overworked some of the priests are (being in charge of three parishes will do that to you), this is news to me.

Gravatar I was also wondering if you could elaborate on where they will be Arieh. We have already asked Father Yontz at St. Peter's and he is willing to say the Mass, but I'm unaware of anywhere else.

Gravatar St. Peter is one, St. Joseph in Toronto is another (the priest has been training altar boys for a year), and possibly on campus (there is a Facebook group with hundreds of members actively creating a petition for the extraordinary form).

Gravatar The only chance it has is if people like us talk it up with our priests every chance we get. I've brought it up with two priests so far, and have gotten nothing from either of them except that the novus ordo is the Catholic Mass of our time, "faddism" is a dangerous thing, yada yada. Very discouraging, but not unexpected.

Yes, they are busy, yes they are overworked, but does anyone really think the cool response would be any warmer if they were not? Look at their bishops. It's their leads they follow. My diocese' master shepherd, Bp Kmiec, grumbles over his shoulder that trads are already "adequately served", as he lumbers back to the tranquillity of his office at 795 Main St. Many churches to close, so little time. Inspirational.

Gravatar TLM is a fad.

Gravatar Anonymous,

Besides being an idiot, do you have anything substantive to offer?

Gravatar Janice,

I think Anonymous meant to type, "The TLM is fab!"

Gravatar TLM dates back at least 1500 years.

Some fad!

Gravatar Thank you for the news Arieh. That is encouraging.

Gravatar EVERY priest in my parish willingly prays the Traditional form every week. Shoot -- we even get to choose between low and high Mass on a weekly basis. It's spreading : our priests have been asked to drive some distance to pray the Mass for others, and it seems we have quite a stream of those interested since the M.P.

Did I mention that I'm at a Fraternity parish?

Vespers, Benediction nearly 100 boys in the Altar Guild. This, surely, is what the AmChurch crowd fears.

Gravatar 17 in Detroit? Fantastic. I'd love a copy of that bulletin.

I genuinely hope this doesn't wound St. Josaphat's, though. The pastor and people there have worked very hard there, and it would be a shame to see it weakened.
