I find it enlightening that Nas and Jay, two amazing wordsmiths, can squash their issues...
Now, if only the four men of the Pharcyde and/or Leaders of the New School could do the same...
So much great hip-hop disappeared because of beef, not just with other rappers/groups but due to internal dissention. (example: Pete and CL...those Soul Survivor II joints with them on it had me jonesin'..."Straighten it out" brothers!)
Jay and Nas were talking about some of the same things Little Brother are saying on The Minstrel Show. We have to take responsibility for hip-hop. We have to get above the pettiness and support good music, whether it's "mainstream" or "underground". We being those that love it.
Thanks for this post!

Damn right, like you say there is so much internal beef that is stopping great music from getting out.
I recently read an interview with Pete Rock where he said he would never work with CL anymore. Too much shit has happened. Now I know that is what Jigga/Nas said at one stage but I really think Pete Rock meant it. It's a damn shame because that "Appreciate" joint was the shit.
The real thing that is ruining hip-hop right now apart from internal and external beefs is people staying in their comfort level. People won't listen tot shit because it's 'commercial' or because that artist used to be more 'underground'.
No worries man, thanks for commenting.
