your friend looks like our Hungarian friend Gyula here in Chicago - face shape, mustache, physique, etc. Haven't heard anything from him and his wife Erika about grilled bacon fat sandwiches, though. Very interesting!
He probably shaved because he felt bad being left alone. At least he didn't chew the furniture and dig lots of holes in the yard!
If I ever go to Hungary I will grow a mustache before I leave. I like to fit in with the locals.
