Thanks Sarah - we could've used Ian's help getting used to an automatic transmission too. I don't think I've seen a stick shift (manual) here yet! But our car now has GPS which comes in very useful when we get lost - I did manage to program in 'Home' - so we know we can always find our way back... eventually!

Hi Tom, hope you all have a lovely amercian Christmas. Still haven't got used to the sunny Christmas here. Sounds like a lovely neighbourhood party you had. We have been trying to do the same here. We did the mulled wine mince pie thing in June when many people have a mid-winter Christmas. Have been in our new house here just over a year while some of our neighbours have been here over 50 yrs! Our elderly neighbour relies on Ian for his skills in tuning in Sky TV (ironic as we still don't have a TV never mind Sky) and I was able to feel very accomplished today in advising him that he won't be able to drive his new automatic Merc unless he has his foot on the break when he wants to move it our of park.
