You are amazing. I am so extremely, majorly, ridiculously, TERRIFIED of all snakes (garden snakes even) to the point I won't go anywhere that I know they have them. Yes even if they are caged and have no way of getting out. There is no way I could have done what you did. My hat goes off to you sweetie! You are my hero today!
I'm so glad you are safe.

Colleen- I was hoping my fear would come through on this and I guess it did. Thanks.
Ren- And thank you, I will hang your hat up in the post below.
I am amazed I did it too. Funny how when push comes to shove you do things you don't think you can. Every fiber of my being was screaming, "Nooo, don't go near that snake!"

Gripping stuff! Glad it ended well.
I'm glad we only have one poisonous snake and that it's more terrified of us than we are of it.

Edge of my chair tale there LaP, glad you're OK!
One of the first lessons I was taught in microbiology was to handle all micro-cultures as if they were lethal....it seems wise to extend this to snakes to me if there's any chance of confusion as to the species at all!

Considering the week my feet have had, that was terrifying to read.
Glad you're ok. And Duke and hubby, too.

Ok. I read this and then I slowly caught a glimpse of my wiggley phone headset wire hanging off my desk here and jumped. Geeeesh. I have MAJOR snake phobia.
I can't believe you did that. I would have run inside and screamed at Bob to get the hell out there and take care of it, even if it meant naked and soapy! .... Or grabbed the shotgun.
What a story. Hope I can sleep tonight. We have three kinds of poisonous snakes that like to visit our yard, rattlers, coral and copperheads PLUS the giant bullsnakes which absolutely do resemble rattesnakes in many ways. It's always fun going behind the bushes each morning to turn on the water faucet. Fortunately, the water mocassins stay down by the creek - at least so far.
Glad you're alive sister!

Glad I am alive too. I will think of you from now on everytime I turn on the outside water faucet.
