How lovely. I can just picture you and the scene. And you're right about the noise levels in the countryside. Once you get over the roar of traffic you start to hear loads of things in the apparently comeplete quiet.

Proper mountains are wonderful.
I'll never forget the first time I saw real mountains (The Alps) at the age of 16.

The first time I was them at thirteen I thought, "There sure are a lot of rocks up here. (gasp!) Of course! That's why they call them The Rocky Mountains!"
