I find it unbelieveable that there is no emergency plan for situations like this in place. It's not like hurricanes are uncommon in the US. I reckon even Britain has a hurricane plan in place since being caught short in 1987, and we're certainly set up for floods and terrorist attacks, even in the smallest towns.

Even the NO police seem utterly unprepared, and are clinging to vestiges of their role without understanding the need for compassion and action. In short, it's utter chaos, a situation mismanaged on every possible level.

Gravatar I loved the way he answered the question about should the country carry on spending so much money in Iraq when so much now needed spending at home.

But why do people still support him?

The other thing that has angered me is many US bloggers saying things like, "Ah, but this is nothing like the Asian Tsunami, it's so much worse, it's here at home!" I've really had to stop myself from commenting...

Gravatar He needs caffeine! See this.

Gravatar What is wrong with this man?

I went to undergrad with lots of this type. They were pleasant, but very lazy-- always protected by their daddy's connections so they never really needed to try.

No sense of responsibility, lots of sense of entitlement. Why bother doing things well, when daddy et al will take care of you? And it's all about you, right?

True,e, but read celia blue's explanation for why this is so.

"Ah, but this is nothing like the Asian Tsunami, it's so much worse, it's here at home!"

Human nature,BW,if it happens to you it's very sad but if it happens to me it's a tragedy.

He needs caffeine!

He needs a lobotomy, kathryn. Wait, I think the real problem is that he already had one.

Good to see you back celia.
