Santiago Dreaming

Here are my thoughts/ideas. Turning him in is no guarantee of anything. He could split them up. Leave three there, three someplace else then the poor pups might really get forgotten. I would talk to him, gently prodding him to placing an ad in the Denver papers to sell (not just as dock dogs, including "will drive half way..". Try to get those babies homes. After, remind him how this worked out for him (not) so he won't do it again. Right after the pups are gone ask the police to remind him about the 3 dog rule. Also, have you looked online for a dog rescue in the area that might take them off his hands (at night, when no one is watching)? Good luck.

Gravatar I agree that more dogs will go to heaven than people, and I think that Maura has a good plan of action.

Those puppies need homes.

What a weird problem for you.

Gravatar I think Maura has a good plan of action too. I'll talk to him first and then go from there.

Gravatar I have also found a Labrador Retriever rescue site that is based in Greeley, Co if needed. There are none in Kansas.

Gravatar Can you get a pic of a really cute one for me to show my husband? He keeeps taking about getting a "real" dog. Maybe we can come take one off your neighbors hands...
My only worry is Brad usally talks about trading my two white fluffy girls in for one "real dog".

Gravatar I feel so bad for those babies. They're so cute.

Gravatar Labradors need people. The owner sounds demented. He needs a visit from the SPA, but if you know anyone who would like to adopt a dog, maybe you could just take them from the pen when nhe's not there. At least you'd be sure they have a home, and he probably would not care that much.
In the meantime, you could try getting any passing high schoolers to pet them and pay them attention, if possible. They need as much as they can get or they'll be no good as pets.

Gravatar Some good news. I talked to "Harry" and he is slowly finding homes for the dogs. He has sold two of them and will be taking them to their new homes next week. I am going to keep gentle pressure on him by asking him about the dogs every two days.

And, e, both my husband and I go over and talk and pet them at least a couple of times a day. I also talk to them anytime I am out doing something in my yard. Unfortunately we do not have any high school kids in the neighborhood anymore.

Gravatar I have one (high schooler) you can borrow.

Gravatar I'm not bringing all those puppies to Denver!

Gravatar I'm glad to see that things are moving along in the right direction with the dogs.
