i agree with your husband that an experienced hunter shooting a fellow hunter is worse than a newbie making a mistake.

True. My husband just saw the police report on the shooting and says there is no way that Cheney was 30 yards away from Mr. Whittington when he shot him. He thinks it was at least half that distance. The other thing he pointed out is you are not supposed to shoot until you see some sky between you and the bird. For Cheney to shoot Mr. Whittington in the chest and face the gun must have been low. My husband was suspicious of the story from the begining. More so when he heard some shot had made it near Mr. Whittington's heart.

Now they are saying Mr. Whittington was in a gully when he was shot. That makes him even closer to the ground when he was shot. What the hell was Cheney thinking when he pulled the trigger of that shotgun?
