you are right that feminism is a term that has gotten so distorted that no one seems comfortable with it.

I'm so far from thinking about 'sex' in these terms that it's good to be reminded.

The thing that is of least interest to me is a person's gender. And, I can honestly say that I haven't a single person in my close circle who would disagree.

Things have come a long way in the past 20 years, haven't they?

Yes they have but, after seeing what is going on in South Dakota, at the same time they have not.

There always has always been a strong "women should stay in there place" under current running through this country but until now it has been more subtle. Well, maybe not- look at the hatred Hilary Clinton aroused by not "knowing her place" when she was the wife of our last president Bill Clinton. Never hear anything bad said about Laura Bush.
