Santiago Dreaming

Gravatar Arghhh!!! I've got all my old childhood books downstairs where anyone could just eat them and die of lead poisoning! Sorry, no time for a longer comment, must destroy them all straight away!

Or not.

I don't think we've had this scare yet, give it time though and I'm sure there'll be a similar response here.

Gravatar Yeah, unfortunately, this kind of misinformation spreads quickly.

Gravatar I wonder if it is more sinister than this... books pre-1975 are often less PC than later ones. Hence the library easily cover themselves against potential criticism simply by withdrawing all books that are more than 35 years old on a trumped up charge.

Oh, blessed are the cynical...

Gravatar Thank you, BW, I thought I was the only one who's mind worked this way. My theory- this is a sneaky way to remove books that "they" don't want our children to read.

Gravatar Ugh, I had a fright when this new law went into effect. I have an on-line store where I sell dolls. I thought I would have to close my shop but they said I was ok but I felt sorry for the rest of the stores that had to get rid of things. You would think that there is an easier way to do things.

Gravatar Nah LaP. I think we are just realistic. It's just that the rest of the world can't see it.

Blessed are the cynical, for they are never disappointed.

Gravatar L. Buck- Uh, no, this is america.

BW-Blessed are the cynical, for they are never disappointed.

That is the saddest thing I have read in a long time. True, yes, but very sad.

(Can you tell I just discovered the tiny sad face in the clickable smiles?)
