Santiago Dreaming

Gravatar For some reason I was unable to view the 1885 building, but I would guess that it doesn't look much different.

Since it has been 46 years since I left Colorado I don't know where highway 34 is, but from the looks of the photos (no mountains) I assume that this is in Eastern Colorado.

My Colorado home is Colorado Springs and mountains are the beauty of the state, but Eastern Colo. leaves me cold.

Gravatar You are right, Darlene, it is Eastern Colorado. As for the mountains, I understand. Each time I see them rising out of the plains on my way to Denver my heart aches for a moment and their beauty takes my breath away. For me they are always a symbol of home.

After living out here on the great plains so long I have found beauty here too. There is great sense of spiritually in the landscape. Nothing like gazing out on endless waves of grain or grass to calm the soul.

Gravatar Fixed the link to the old photo of Yeamans. It seems you can't get there directly and must start at the main page. Just follow the instructions written in the post.
