Santiago Dreaming

Gravatar I agree with you. Amazing, eh?

Gravatar It is amazing that you are agreeing with me or it is amazing what is happening?

Gravatar We're getting news stories over here that Obama's honeymoon period is over and the tide is turning against the positive vibes of the last few months. Is that your perception of what's actually happening?

And if they want to reform your healthcare to be like the NHS in the UK, then I'd vote against it too...

People like medics are just too greedy, and that's the beginning and end of it. I do not understand how anyone goes into a caring profession and then can refuse to treat a person who is ill because they haven't much money. Unless they go into it for financial rather than compassionate reasons.

Gravatar The honeymoon is over as people realize things are not going to change as quickly as they hoped for but Obama is still popular.

As to what the new system will look like, who knows at this point. The media has done a bad job of explaining it.

Gravatar Money always talk louder than fairness or logic. The only thing that can save meaningful health care reform is if the Senators hear loud an clear that their constituents want the Public Option (Better, the single-payer option) or they won't be re-elected.

I fear for health care reform until they whole system collapses under it's own weight of increasing costs.

Gravatar Do any of your politicians dare take on the drug companies though? Because at the end of the day I believe it's them who have driven up the costs of healthcare, and with it the greed of medics - doctors have seen drug companies being paid huge amounts by medical insurance companies and have wanted some of the action.

Gravatar Do any of our politicians dare to take on the drug companies? Only the ones who don't have their hands in the drug companies pockets. I agree greed is the main problem but I see signs of fear from doctors, hospitals and drug companies that if they don't change their way of doing business the people, through their government, will do it for them.
