I don't think it would help to make it bigger, you still would not be able to see the thickness of the paint drips and swirls. And I bet those red splotches really pop out at you when you're looking at the original.

You're probably right...though even flat on my monitor it seems to have an amazing depth. I can only imagine what it's like in the flesh.
