Gosh, that's a very quick-after-the-event funeral - at least by standards over here (10-12 days is the norm, more if a post mortem is needed, as would have happened in this case, or at 'busy times' like mid-winter). Is it always like that?
I always think those days between a death and a funeral are the worst, so it's good to get things over with quickly.

Did they find out what happened to cause him to die so sudddenly?

Yes, normally that is the time period but I was surprised by how quick this funeral was since there had been an autopsy. And you are right the days between his death and his funeral seemed endless.
Cody had been injured sometime last month at the garage he worked in when a large tire and rim he was trying to remove from a truck slipped off the hub and slammed into his shoulder and side. He dislocated his shoulder and broke some ribs. The day he died a blood-clot in his lung broke loose and traveled to his heart.
There are still times when I just can't accept that he is gone.

That is truly awful. Surely they should have had him on clot-busting medication in that situation?

If they knew his ribs were broken, probably. I don't know if they did. I do know he had a high pain threshold and it could be they didn't know.
