First, new safety evaluations should be assessed to determine if much of this underwater city should even be re-built. Yes, in good faith for the misinformed, gov. should pay for infrastructure; But, H.O.A. or prop. Insurance should faire the rest.
Personally, I feel a re-location plan should be organized for many of land/home owners, whose land is still underwater at this time. They obviously will not be able to build for an indefinite period of time.
I would love to find out how the military folks are fairing with dealing with all this. Also, how is the return process going. And finally, does he feel that putting the military in charge of disaster situations like this would be the best option, or just a back up..

Having been to Lake Charles' casinos on several Sunday trips, I'm wondering how they've fared?
Are they open for business?
And what's the situation with clean water, sewage treatment, and electricity in the area?
Is Interstate 10 and the big bridge passable?
What exactly is the military doing in Lake Charles?
How about the schools in the area, open or closed?

Anyway, having lived in Gautier, Ms. before, I know that even 8 miles from the coast I was in a flood plain. Anyone living in that area should have had it.
I believe the government should help with the infrastructure repairs, but the home/property owners should be responsible for the rebuilding of their stuff.
