Set up a protest against terrorism tomorrow in the streets of Cairo. Do it. Call everyone you know, join together, link up this Egyptian blogosphere and to the streets.

This flag is the most secular there is in Egypt's history, and the most beautiful ever!

The crescent is a symbol for the Kingdom of Egypt and it symbolizes inclusion (notice its shape) and the three stars are inside the flag. those stars refer to the Muslims, Christians, and Jews of Egypt.

Great post and LOVE the flag. I tought the crescent represent the Ottman empire which Egypt was a part of and the three stars represent the muslims, christians and jews living in Egypt. I prefere it much more than the one we have now, its morbid and doesnt symbolize Egypt. And also don't like the national anthum I think that Opera Aida's "Gloire L'Egypte" march will be better.

Yes the current flag has nothing to do with Egypt... it has a lot to do with Nasser's fantasies. As for our national anthem, it sounds to me like a children's song.
