Besides the deterioriating security position, the ministers of culture and the interior were also busy doing other stuff when she should have been busy with the citizens' public safety, avoiding Bani Suef inferno.
This is a lawless state.

Little wonder why Israel was reluctant to give up control of this border. Couple of terror attacks should send the Israeli troops right back into Gaza; and the Palestinians, via Hamas, will have once again not missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity...
Pathetic.

I am an American thinking of working in Egypt next year and I mentioned this to an Egyptian friend and they didn't seem concerned at all. I find it interesting that I was worried about it, but he wasn't.

Well, we can't control the borders of the U.S.A., mainly because we can't get rough with the illegals.
Might be seen as non-PC you know.
I would think that if a several "illegals" coming into Egypt were killed or captured, then the thugs, criminals and terrorists would have to turn their hatred on Egypt and that would benifit not only Israel but also Eqypts position with the West. You know...Egypts war on terror and all that.
But, I am sure that will never happen, Egypt will build new roads, pave them and set up welcome tents with beverages and food for whoever wants to cross the border, in either direction.
