This is Egypt's flag before the military coop in 1952.
It is said that the crescent is Egypt, and the three stars are Muslims, Christians, and Jews living together in peace (before 1952 of course). Could the three stars also be a symbol of "all people from all backgrounds" living in peace, and not just people from those 3 religions? I like to think so.

I just found about you tonite. I feel so ashamed of myself, because earlier, i thought i was the only one who is defiant of our status quo and is actually practicing wot i preach. i feel stupid and conceited, but happy and strong. i wanna cry and scream and laugh and probably even hit somebody.
i think u GOT IT. YOU understand more about life and truth and goodness than all those self-righteous, self-proclaimed voices from heaven!
Let's unite, you must have known tens- if not hundreds- of good Egyptians by now. Let's be smarter and shrewder than every corrupt organization, AND individual in this country.
Let us LIVE THE ANTITHESIS of our reality. We'll have the right start, we'll grow slowly but surely. We won't strike until we're already a force to be reckoned with.

everyone has his merits,and his mistakes,Nasser wasn't an angel,nor was he a devil,why didn't you mention the corruption of the "national king" in your post? ,no-one would disagree with democracy and civil rights,no-one would refute a more civilized state,but our own state,not coming from a westernerized person,who would carry a western agenda rather than an Egyptian agenda
This flag aroused in my insides some nostalgic feelings for a time i havent lived.you know what deep in my insides i wish to live in egypt before 1952 on the condition that ill be the daughter of some rich pasha hahaha.There was poverty.... yes,corruption....indeed,misdistribution of resources....of course.but at least the people no matter how poor they were at least they were elegant, civilised and had some taste now we still have the same old problems but we turned into barbarians.
